thinking outside the box

i dont know weither to put this in animal or sci-fi or fantasy... so its in animal.

why am i so facinated by schrodingers cat? oh well... makes for cool ideas.
the background was done thanks to a tutorial i saw on the main page a few days back. as a result i kind of lost some respect for digital art, but gained another kind of repect. once you know the few tricks to it, you can generate hundreds of really pretty pictures in no time at all. but it all just feels a bit empty to me. i suppose its more interesting because you actually learn what the program can do, and how to mass produce fantasy landscapes.
as you can see in this picture, i learned about the magic of the blur tool combined with a few color burn and screen techniques. looks cool though.
